At KAⅡ Design & Work, in addition to a double-layer defense using a slab foundation and moisture/termite barrier sheets, we also adopt the Joto Kiso Packing underfloor ventilation system, backed by over 40 years of proven performance, to achieve durable, long-lasting homes.

The Joto Kiso Packing system installs specialized “Kiso Packings” between the foundation and sill, achieving significantly higher ventilation performance than conventional methods.
Ventilated materials utilize natural airflow to create full-perimeter ventilation, drying the entire underfloor space.

In the past, homes had grated openings called “underfloor vents.”
However, during heavy rain, water could flow into these openings, and because they were open to the outside, insects could easily enter.
What underfloor spaces truly require is a balance of airtightness and ventilation.

By combining complete airtightness using a slab foundation and moisture/termite barrier sheets with ventilation provided by the Joto Kiso Packing system, we significantly enhance the durability of the home.
